ACPHS ADDS TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS
ALBANY, N.Y. – March 11, 2015 – Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) announced today that Paul DerOhannesian II and James Notaro, R.Ph., Ph.D., have been appointed to the College’s Board of Trustees.
Mr. DerOhannesian and Dr. Notaro are the fifth and sixth individuals to be named to the College’s Board of Trustees since July. The Board now has 20 members.
Paul DerOhannesian II is a civil and criminal litigation attorney at the firm DerOhannesian and DerOhannesian in Albany, NY.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. DerOhannesian was an assistant district attorney with the Albany County District Attorney’s Office and for 22 years headed the D.A.’s Special Assault Unit.
He is the author of a definitive two-volume text, Sexual Assault Trials, Fourth Edition(LexisNexis, 2014). He has provided expert testimony at the request of groups such as the U.S. Advisory Board on Child Abuse and Neglect, the New York State Commission on Investigations, and the New York State Senate Committee on Crime and Correction.
Mr. DerOhannesian is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the NAACP’s Thurgood Marshall Award for his legal work defending the rights of African-American citizens. He also received the coveted Lecturer of Merit Award by the National College of District Attorneys in recognition of his teaching.
Dr. Notaro is the Founder and President of Clinical Support Services (CSS), Inc., a Buffalo-based provider of medication management solutions.
After graduating from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, he received his Ph.D. in Operations Research from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He founded CSS in 1999.
Dr. Notaro has extensive experience in the managed care industry, having served as Director of Ancillary Clinical Service and Manager of Pharmacy Services for Univera Health Care. He was also Director of Managed Care Programs/Research & Development for Centrus, an Albany-based prescription benefit management company.
In addition to his role with CSS, Dr. Notaro is an assistant professor in the Department of Health Services Administration at D’Youville College in Buffalo, where he teaches graduate-level courses and serves as a thesis director.
